The edge of the Golan Heights, the fields just beyond the white compound is Syria. They have invaded Israel many times from here. Syria once had the Golan Heights, but Isreal took it back in 1974 by force and will not give it back this time. Unusual to think that at any time, and many times in the past, your enemies may roll over the hills with a huge army. Lots of military activity around here.
